Next step completed

I had my psych evaluate yesterday. Let me start by saying I'm not a patient person. My appointment was at 6pm yesterday, but I didn't get in until 6:45. UGH!!!!!! The person before me came in from out of town and was late, so I got to wait as well. I wasn't going to leave though, who knows how long it would take to get another appointment, so I waited and waited. It was worth it in the end, he said I am a great candidate for the surgery! Yippee! Now the waiting for insurance approval begings. Did I mention I'm not a patient person? Will try to keep my mind off of if,not sure how well that will work. Things are moving forward, so that's a great thing!

  1. Hi Colleen, i too am ready to take control of my life, i am only exploring the lap band option at this point. My main concern is the recovery time. unfortunately times are tough for the family and i cant afford to be out of work for weeks at a time. I am hoping to find out what others have gone through and happened upon your blog, just wanted to wish you well, i will be hopefully be joining you at some point soon.

  2. Thanks for stopping by. It's a big decision that took me a long time. Now that I'm ready, I'm really ready! From what I've read, while recovery does vary from person to person most people are back to work within 2 weeks. I've heard of some people who are back to work in 2 days! Good luck on your journey!

  3. Hello! I just wanted to respond to Bob's concern about being out of work for surgery. Most bandsters I know are back at work after 4 days or so. But I guess it depends on the activity level of your job. Getting healthy with or without a band IS TOTALLY WORTH it :)
